Serving Opportunities

We believe the cheerful and sacrificial giving of our time and talents is part of our worship and a way to obey God's command to "love one another" (John 13:34-35). There are a number of ways for you to use your gifts to serve the body of Christ for God's glory within and beyond the Five Points community. For even more opportunites to serve, check out the serve portion on The Table or pick up a "Serve" booklet at the Welcome Desk before or after our Sunday service.

If you are able to help with any of the following opportunities, send an e-mail to serve@5pointscc.org or contact the church office. An asterisk denotes the most pressing needs.

See the many ways to serve and get involved in blessing a family at Five Points on the Levi's Room page.

Techies (4)
Join a team of individuals who serve behind the scenes by providing for the audio and visual needs of our services, events, and activities. Training on how to operate the sound and video equipment is provided, so all that is needed is general technology experience and a desire to serve. (2-3 hours per week, mainly on Sunday mornings.)

House of Jacob (10 families)
Help provide food for families in need of assistance through our food pantry. We currently are looking for families who could serve as "sponsor families," being paired with another family to deliver a box of groceries twice per month. Contact Tim Rettger or the address above if interested. (2-3 hours per month.)

Volunteer Coordinator (1)
Do you have good organizational and interpersonal skills? Find yourself able to rally people together for a cause? Perhaps you could help us by serving as a volunteer coordinator, recruiting, deploying, and training volunteers for a variety of ministry areas. (1-2 hours per week.)

Welcome Desk (7)
Be a go-to person on Sunday mornings by providing helpful information while making people feel welcomed and folded in to the Five Points family. This area of service needs a team developed and trained. (1 hour per week on Sunday mornings.)

Web Content Developer (1)
Have a knack for web content writing? Serve the church in keeping our website content fresh and up-to-date (1-2 hours per week).

Blog Content Strategist (1)
Serve in thinking strategically about what content should be produced on our blog, organize and secure authors, and write content that is in line with and advances our mission and values. (4-5 hours per week.)

IT Help Desk (1)
Be available to our church staff for user questions and issues related to software applications, hardware needs, VoIP, and other questions that arise. (1-2 hours per week.)

Adobe Suite Specialist (1)
Use your skills with Adobe Suite applications to lay out publications in partnership with our Production Artist. (2-3 hours per week.)

Communication & Web Team
In addition to the above roles, we're looking for writers, bloggers, photographers, editors, and web developers to help produce content—both print and digital—to communicate our efforts to see our neighbors and the nations join us in pursuing our joy in Jesus alone.

Office Organizer (1)
Help organize and execute various projects around the church office. Projects include organizing storage space, folding worship folders, assembling printed projects, and other similar items. (2-3 hours per week.)

*Children's Ministry Team Leader (2)
Ensure that volunteers are supported by serving in one of two coordinator capacities: Preschool Team Leader or Elementary Team Leader.

Children's Teachers and Volunteers (4)

The specific spots we are needing to fill are: Sunday morning volunteers with 2-year-olds (3; once per month) and Sunday morning nursery coordinator (1; once per quarter).
