What are Family Evening Gatherings?

A time of extended worship and teaching that begins at 5:45 pm on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. The 1st and 3rd Sunday's will be dedicated to small groups and we will not meet as a church body in the evening.

 

We'll begin at 5:45 pm together as one group for worship, baptisms and testimonies of what God is doing throughout the people of Five Points locally and around the globe.

Teaching

Around 6:15 we'll break up into smaller groups with Discipleship Seminars that change each quarter and activities for the kids.

Reading the Bible For All it is Worth

Have you ever desired to know the Word of God in all its detailed richness? Have you ever wanted to glean the glorious doctrines of the faith  inductively from Scripture. Moses exhorted God's people to not neglect any detail of the Word of God, but be careful to do all the words of the law,
"For it is no empty word for you, but your very life..." (Deut 32:47). If you long to learn how to mine the gold of Scripture in rigorous Bible Study this seminar welcomes you. If will be life for us, and for those we serve. 

Technology and the Church: Towards a Biblical View of the Use of Technology in the Present Age

An introduction of how the development and use of technologies has affected the Church throughout the ages. We will investigate how the Church has and continues to use technology to help further God's Kingdom.  Additional discussions will be given on the role of the Church in the digital age, the idols and cult of technology, the Internet and the “virtual” Church, online evangelism, the use of social media in the church, cyber security, computer gaming, and missions through media. In class attention will be given to the use of today's technologies as it applies to ministries, missions and the biblical mandate of the Great Commission.

3-5 Year Olds: The Shorter Catechism for Children

Written as a adaptaion of the Westminister Confession, the Shorter Catechism was created in order to teach children and lay people the same truths found in the larger document. It is is written in a question and answer format to help with memorization and has has a rich heritage dating back to the 1640's. The verision we are using has been slightly adapted from the original.

Q: What is the chief end of man?
A: Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

4th - 6th Grades: A Baptist Catechism

Similar to the Shorter Catechism, A Baptist Catechism was written in order to catechize, or teach Biblical truths, to children. It was adopted by the the Philadelphia Baptist Association in 1742.
