The Table Project

Sunday morning, Pastor Brent used Acts 2:42-47 to show how the early church lived in community. Fellowship among the saints happened daily, not weekly, as they encouraged one another through prayer, sharing meals together and giving generously to each other's needs. We introduced a tool that we hope will encourage community at Five Points called the Table. Member's and regular attenders have been sent an e-mail inviting them to join and engage with the community of Five Points.
The Table is just a tool, it cannot create community on it's own. But it does provide a platform for the church body to share and encourage one another. Here are some of the way's it can help:
- It helps fight anonymity with a directory that shows those who live near you with photos and maps.
- It allows us to share Prayer requests with the church body or smaller more intimate groups within the church.
- Serving others becomes easier as needs are made known and items are shared.
- Discussion boards allow learning and sharing to take place among groups.
It is different from other social media, such as Facebook and twitter in that it is centered on community, not individuals, and is exclusively for the church body at Five Points.
We hope you'll sign up and poke around the site. Make sure to fill out your profile and add a picture so that other's can see who you are.
