Ponderings About Womanhood

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created Him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

We live in a time when the grand design of God for women has been hidden by a black cloud of misrepresentation and deception. As a result women struggle to know who they are, what their role in life is and what their great purpose is in God’s design for them. According to the culture, womanhood looks subservient, causing women to feel underrated, underappreciated and less than fulfilled.

Oh, that women might know God’s grand design for their lives! For in that understanding is hope, contentment and joy! God’s design is that a woman would be a “woman of grace”, one who gives grace in the same way that she has received favor from God. For with that favor from God comes peace with God and the peace of God. A woman of grace is a peacemaker, one who helps others find the peace only God can give through Jesus Christ. She is an instrument of grace, helping others find peace and joy, help and hope. God intends for a godly woman to be a sage, one who gives wise and prudent counsel that enriches the lives of those about her. God’s design for a woman is magnanimous: to be filled with grace, an instrument used by God, overflowing with godly wisdom and an “echo of His excellence”, living for the glory of God. What higher calling could anyone have?
