A NEW New Year

What would happen if I read my Bible every day—not just when I felt like it but every day consistently? What would happened if I prayed—really prayed for God to change me—instead of stressing or complaining? What would happen if I really believed as I walked by the Spirit I would not fulfill the cravings of my flesh and then lived like I believed this truth? I think that I might not only have a NEW new year but my life would be transformed! What do you think? Are you ready for something NEW in 2012?
The LORD, our Redeemer, says to everyone who is called by His name whom He created for His glory, “Do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a NEW thing, now it will spring forth, will you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isa 43:7, 18-19 NKJV) Hallelujah for new things!
J C Ryle adds, “Would you like to possess more faith? Then take heed that you are diligent in the use of every means of grace–diligent in your private communion with God–diligent in your daily watchfulness over time, temper, and tongue–diligent in your private Bible readying–diligent in your own private prayers… there never was an eminent saint who neglected them.”
We as women have opportunity to avail ourselves of yet another means of grace by gathering together every third Monday evening in community with our sisters-in-Christ to “exhort one another daily lest any of us be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” (Heb 3:13) This month’s Tapestry will feature a fun and delicious Hot Chocolate Bar plus we will continue learning about The Works & Gifts of the Holy Spirit from Pastor Brent. Come join this “means of grace” and experience a NEW new year!
